SAM’S STORY

Philip Jones, Chaplain, says "This man is a 42 yr old male with an IQ of 69 and has autism. He has one conviction for a serious sexual attack. He is resident out of his local area and his case calls for many demands on time and resources. We have supported him in an application for supported accommodation and he has moved on from the Approved Premises he was living in, we helped find a church for him to attend. He is doing voluntary work 3 days a week. He phones me regularly as he does with the mentor.

His ability to manage money is problematic and he uses purchases in a coffee shop to “buy” friendship. We are currently working on his budgeting skills. He has already received 100 hrs of mentoring support over 12 months and the case due for closure shortly."
