WHAT WE DO

Futures Unlocked is a trusted and inclusive Community Chaplaincy supporting people across Warwickshire and Coventry as they leave prison and rebuild their lives. Rooted in both multi-faith and non-faith values, we work to reduce re-offending, increase public safety, and strengthen communities—one life at a time.

We believe in the power of second chances and the role that compassionate, consistent support plays in long-term change. Our dedicated volunteers and staff work with people from all walks of life, offering tailored support and encouragement through their journey.

CORE MENTORING

Our core service is one-to-one mentoring, delivered by trained volunteers and staff. We support both men and women who are either already living in the community or returning from prisons outside the local area.

Mentoring includes:

  • Support across the full range of resettlement needs (housing, employment, addiction, mental health, relationships, etc.)

  • Pre-release contact and planning where possible

  • Gate pick-ups on release day (where appropriate)

  • Ongoing personal support for 6 to 12 months

All mentors are supervised by experienced Chaplains and work closely with each individual to build trust, encourage progress, and walk alongside them on the path to lasting change.

OUT OF AREA SUPPORT

We specialise in helping people coming back to Warwickshire after serving time in out of area prisons. When we receive a referral, we make contact through "Email a Prisoner" and may arrange a video call to get to know the person and assess their needs.

From there, we may:

  • Arrange a gate pick-up on their release day

  • Provide immediate practical help

  • Offer mentoring and support in the community

Our goal is to ensure no one walks out of prison feeling alone or unsupported, and to give every individual a real chance to move forward.
