John Powell

OPERATIONS MANAGER

John became the Operations Manager for Futures Unlocked in January 2021.

He joined the Charity, as a Community Chaplain, in October 2014 when the Transforming Rehabilitation changes came into existence.

He previously worked in Outdoor Activity Centres both here and in France for 10 years, moving on to work in Police Custody Suites in Worcester then Leamington. He enjoys sports of all kinds. He is also a great fundraiser.

IAIN BRADSHAW

COMMUNITY CHAPLAIN

Iain has 22 years working for the prison service, before changing careers as a care practitioner in a children’s residential home.

He started to volunteer for Futures Unlocked run early 2024. He is passionate about helping reduce reoffending and supporting ex-offenders.

He is a season ticket holder at Leicester City Football club, and enjoy all sports as well as spending time outdoors walking and hiking.

EVELYN WHEELER

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Evelyn has been a mentor with Futures Unlocked since February 2023, and joined Futures Unlocked as the new volunteer coordinator in January, 2024.

Evelyn has recently completed her Bachelor of Science in Forensic Psychology with honours. She previously volunteered as a befriender at a care home for the elderly, and also volunteers at Rugby Foodbank on the Surge Team.

TRUSTEES

The board meets quarterly to manage delivery of the vision for the Charity. Current trustees bring a wide range of skills and experience to the board and are keen to develop the projects which the charity can deliver. While we have a wide range of skills and attributes across our trustee panel, we would benefit from more experience in employment and premises skills. Our current trustees are as follows -

  • Mark Mansell

    TRUSTEE

    Mark is a retired solicitor who was with a large London firm and is Chair of our Trustees. He is also linked with Hope 4, a charity for the homeless in Rugby.

    Mark is also a Trustee of the Community Chaplaincy Association and has been working with and supporting the Prison Chaplaincy at prisons within the Rugby area for over 10 years.

  • Les Gill

    TRUSTEE

    Les has been a Trustee since the inception of Futures Unlocked and is based in Leicester.  A retired minister and Prison Chaplain, he served for 30 years as a police officer. He is also a founding Trustee of the Helping Hands Community Trust that provided a one stop free advice service and mental health support to vulnerable clients within the Leicester and Leicestershire area.

  • David Proctor

    TRUSTEE

    David is an accountant. He retired from London Underground where he was the Governance Manager responsible for managing London Underground’s governance including its interface with Transport for London’s governance arrangements. David is our Company Secretary and Treasurer and is responsible for fundraising.

    David is the Treasurer of Hope 4, a homeless charity based in Rugby and of The Rugby Foodbank.

  • Victoria De Kock

    TRUSTEE

    Having worked in resettlement in both adult, and children prisons, Victoria has experience of supporting people both during their sentence, and whilst preparing for release. Now working in Youth Justice within the community, she continues to support those at risk of offending or at risk of going to custody and has completed many trauma-informed training programmes in order to better understand each person needing support.

  • Haran Bains

    Haran has been an Independent Financial Adviser for over 15 years providing dedicated advice to Professional Sports People and variety of clients working in the city. In his spare time, he is a Christians Against Poverty CAP) Money Coach and supports other local charities in Coventry and Warwickshire.

  • George McCranor

    George has worked in statutory and third sector services for 20 years both on the frontline and in management roles. He is now a counsellor working in private practice. He has an academic interest in the future of work, organisational citizenship behaviour and employee wellbeing.

  • Nick Wood

    Nick had been a heavy drinker and user of ‘party’ substances for 40 years until in 2018 when a hospital doctor saved his life.  Since then, has become abstinent from all and recovery became his focus. He has been a client, volunteer and now works as a recovery coach at Change Grow Live in Leamington and is now working towards a foundation degree level.

    Nick has nothing but gratitude to the community that supported him in his recovery. Nick sees that giving back his time to Futures Unlocked to support those in need as a means of thanks for the support that he was provided with when he needed it.

  • Michelle Mikulsky

    Michelle has been a counsellor and company director specialising in working with clients on probation as well as private clinic for individuals and couples. Michelle enjoys connecting with and supporting local charities through various roles including volunteering at a soup kitchen and befriending/mentoring.

  • Joyce Woodings

    Joyce is a retired social worker and is also a Trustee of Hope 4, The Benn Partnership, the Blanche Sargeaunt Foundation and Together for Change Coventry and Warwickshire.

  • Joanne Froggett

    Jo is an ordained Church Minister with a background in financial services based at Rugby Christian Life Centre – a big-hearted, community-minded church. Her ongoing journey as a carer for her neurodivergent child gives Jo a unique perspective that shapes the inclusivity and empathy at the heart of her ministry.
